It is nice when a small amount put aside has somewhere to show up. A number can do the job, but I like a little jar filling towards something specific.
Savings Jar is a visual savings tracker for Notion. Set a goal, then use Add money to record an amount. The jar fills towards the target as you update it.
Give the jar one purpose
You could use it for a new desk, a craft project or a trip you are planning. Put the name of the thing above the widget and keep any notes beside it: the amount you are aiming for, a link you want to keep, or what the total needs to cover.
One clear purpose makes the picture easier to read. If the goal is a desk, the jar shows progress towards that desk. You can keep the rest of your budget elsewhere.
Add what you have actually put aside
Tap Add money and enter the amount you saved. For example, if you put aside £10, record £10 in the jar. Choose a currency and target that match your own goal, and keep your entries consistent.
This is a manual record. The widget does not connect to a bank, move money or confirm a balance. Update it after you have put the money aside, so the picture stays useful.
A small home on your Notion page
I would put the jar beside a short note about the goal, with a little space underneath for changes. Perhaps the item costs more than you first thought, or you have found a different one you prefer.
The jar can show the progress while your notes explain the details. You do not need to squeeze the whole plan into the widget.
Start with the goal you already have
Open the Savings Jar customise page, set up your goal and copy the embed link. Paste it into a Notion /embed block and resize it to fit your page.
A small start still belongs in the jar. I hope this one gives that first bit of progress a nice little place to sit.
